Summary
The report “Charter of Rights of Women Seeking Asylum – 2 years on: impacts and actions” evaluates the impact of the Charter of Rights of Women Seeking Asylum which was launched two years ago. The UK Border Agency (UKBA) has started to develop strategies to create a gender-sensitive culture in their work, which was the main goal of the Charter. A major achievement is that UKBA is now providing childcare during asylum interviews in three of its seven regions. The Charter has furthermore been highly commended at this year’s Charity Awards, which aim to value talent and expertise in the voluntary sector.
