News | Human Rights of Sex Workers

On 17 December, International Day to End Violence against Sex Workers, La Strada International and its partners published a statement, calling to end violence against sex workers and for the protection and promotion of their human rights.

Due to the often criminalised status of sex work, sex workers all over the world face different forms of violence, which often remains unpunished.

La Strada International and its partners stress that sex work and trafficking are not the same thing and should be addressed by different policies and legislation and sex workers rights organisations should always be consulted when preparing national and international prostitution policies.
